Picking up a range of different skills at College while doing my BTEC National in IT, I decided to further my interest in the programming fields by attending Staffordshire University. Having recently completed a degree in Computer Games Programming, it has allowed me to have quite a diverse skillset. Games Programming has given me a way of expressing my creativity through my assignments and helping to create a portfolio of different programming technique. I am familiar with many different languages such as: VB.Net, C, C++, C#, Java as well as many programming design patterns. The modules I studied covered 3D Programming (with OpenGL, DirectX9, DirectX10), Physics, AI & Decision Making systems and Socket Programming. There was a mix of independent study and group based projects; giving me reasons to manage the project, myself and also at times other team members. This course gave me the opportunity to spend a placement year at Capula Ltd where I worked on developing Data Mining tools for SCADA systems based on Legacy systems. It also allowed me to develop my personal skills, maintaining professionalism in the eyes of others. It gave me the chance to see how my skills can affect a real life project. Fast forward to now, I have been working as an Engineer on multiple projects primarily with a focus on PLC coding. I have a great understanding of a project life cycle following systems from their initial design phase, through coding / implementation, to testing as well as commissioning. I have used various software packages from legacy to current standards, and find it easy to transition to a new product. Experienced with multiple PLCs manufacturers - Schneider, Siemens, Allan Bradley (Rockwell Automation).
