Key Responsibilities:● Direct operational management of Nuclear AMRC facilities in Derby and Birchwood Park ● Accountable for the recruitment, training and direct management of personnel across multiple sites, maximise productivity through ongoing performance monitoring and review● Orchestrate all visitor experience and events on a regular basis ranging from a diverse section of the community, including schools and local groups up to the highest echelons of government● Identification and management of multiple key stakeholders across the University of Sheffield to develop an effective delivery and support team within the advanced manufacturing group● Manage numerous projects from inception to completion, monitor all project deliverables including timing, scope and budgets to mitigate any risks● Apply commercial thinking to lead on negotiations with various third party suppliers and contractors, which led to recently securing a £50K reduction in rent at Derby facility● Achieve financial objectives by monitoring annual budgets, schedule expenditures, analyse variances, and initiate corrective actions● Deliver multiple service improvements and ensure value for money by performing comprehensive analysis across the wider business● Establishment and delivery of regional site STEM programmes for delivery into schools and local communities, the goal of which is to increase the University’s profile and the next generations understanding of sustainability, the part we can all play in building a better, cleaner, safer worldKey Achievements:● Drove staff motivation and retention through periods of significant change increasing cohesion and success rates, lowering non conformance● Driving force behind the delivery of a bespoke research and development building in Derby; built and managed new teams from the ground up● End to end management for the migration of numerous site moves, including leases, teams, business cases, finance and recommissioning
