During my first summer internship with the Research and Development Department at Summit Truck Bodies I worked on the following:•5S of a Robot Welding Cell Area: Drafting and manufacturing storage mounts for different jigs, mounts, tools, & supplies. This also required remodeling the plant layout for the addition of a new gantry system crane as well as updated plant models. •Prototype Hydraulic Crane Design: Tested, recorded, and analyzed new load and function capabilities. Helped with assembly and final touches of the mass manufacturable design. Designed and tested parts using FEA for future implementation.•New Product Designs and Design Testing: Redesigned Hydraulic reservoir/electrical component line storage section on undercarriages for trucks as well as design, testing and completed budget comparison analysis. Tested new tailgate handle designs and remodeled tailgates to accommodate. Implemented new back up camera placement to meet FMVSS III standards. Tested durability and functionality of new light weight drawer pack designs for future implementation. •Various Plant Improvement Projects: Tested and completed K factor analysis for press brakes. Designed and manufactured paint hangers to improve production efficiency. Designed and manufactured vesa mounts for tablets in crane assembly areas. •Manual Labor Experience: Helping in production when there was increased production demands by operating BYSTRONIC Press Brakes, LISMIC Sanders, Poxy Door Assembly, PANSONIC Robot Welder, and Crane Assembly. I have accepted and signed a new offer to continue to work for the summer of 2024.
