Hello, my name is Benjamin Ta. I am a sophomore studying Computer Engineering at the University of Houston. I am a Houston resident who was also born here!I was always fascinated by computers and electronics around my household. As the son of a software tester for a company contracted to NASA, I was raised around technology and how it interacted with the outside world. Curiosity about how computer systems worked and how we interacted with them led me to study Computer Engineering.I had the chance to step into engineering when I attended a four-year program called HoustonPREP, an engineering program at the University of Houston-Downtown where we learned the fundamentals of engineering. Being part of projects that included making bottle rockets and towers out of sticks helped me develop critical thinking skills and taught me how to be a leader in project management.In the future, I want to work as an engineer in software development or computer architecture to contribute to advancing quality computer-based products for society and businesses to maximize productivity and enrich the quality of life.Hobbies include playing the cello, playing tennis with family and friends, and learning new recipes to cook.
