Pioneering adaptive rainwater diversion (ARD), where surplus rainwater is returned to the catchment to restore baseflow and improve flow regimes of urban streams. In addition to improving stream health, ARD provides an avenue to implement water sensitive urban design and sustainable water resources management in existing urban catchments. Thus, we can progress towards water sensitive cities: One global urban challenge of our lifetime!
