Field support for data center mechanical systems.

Researcher on the $1.5M "Methane Mitigator" (M2) project, which is aimed at reducing methane emissions from producing well sites.Duties included data collection, data analysis, laboratory setup for a CAT3508j engine, fluid flowrate instrumentation, methane emissions quantifications, and physical system modeling.I worked on the "Methane Mitigator (M2)" research project, funded primarily by the Department of Energy & supported by industry partners such as SWN, NNE, Ariel, and Caterpillar.The project was aimed at designing, testing, and implementing a fugitive methane collection system that could be retro-fitted to existing producing well sites. The system would collect fugitive methane emitted by pneumatic controllers, tanks, and engine/compressor crankcases. These collected gasses would be buffered, possibly treated, and then provided to the on-site natural gas engine. The system would reduce site emissions significantly & potentially lower the amount of gas used for compression purposes. Other activities related to my work include well site methane emissions data collection, emissions quantifications, gas measurements, laboratory setup and operation, heavy-duty natural gas engine operation, and thermal/fluids systems modelling.

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering

Second consecutive summer of the same internship. Worked alongside underground production crews, assisted maintenance personnel with typical repair duties, assisted above-ground environmental crews with earthworks projects, assisted mining engineers with inspection and mapping duties, and assisted the processing plant crews with general maintenance and operation.

Attained 80 hour underground and 40 hour surface MSHA certifications and received CPR/ First Aid certification. Worked underground in Kingston #2 mine with inby maintenance crews and outby electricians maintaining and repairing mining equipment and electrical systems. This included Joy continuous miners, Fletcher roof bolters, shuttle cars, forklifts, mantrips, scoops, personal rides, and much more. Electrical work included power centers, KVAs, high line splices, power moves, battery changes, and more.

General engineering intern. Visited job sites for inspection, assisted with surveying jobs, completed general office work including: compiling Microsoft Office files, reviewing project bids, simple mapping projects, etc.
