As a patient safety specialist and risk lead at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, I have over 10 years of experience in the healthcare sector and a master's degree in organizational leadership and management in healthcare practice. I am also pursuing level 3 and 4 of the patient safety syllabus to enhance my knowledge and skills in this field. My mission is to advise the board on patient safety strategies and risk management approaches across a diverse portfolio of services, and to ensure the highest standards of care and safety for our patients and staff.In my current role, I have successfully implemented the new national patient safety incident response framework (PSIRF), which aims to improve the learning and response from patient safety incidents. I have also led the development and delivery of a comprehensive patient safety and risk management training programme, covering topics such as incident reporting, root cause analysis, human factors, and duty of candour. I have leveraged my skills in healthcare, customer service, and Microsoft Excel to analyse and present data, monitor and evaluate performance, and identify and mitigate risks.
