I am currently in my 3rd year of study. So far I have enjoyed learning new skills to help solve technical problems; I hope to be able to apply my University teaching and independent learning to help solve global engineering challenges, like future energy demand and climate change. I have also enjoyed collaborating on group design projects and I’ve found I work very effectively in small, focused teams, often taking on leadership roles. I’ve completed many FutureLearn and Udemy courses in a variety of fields, such as MATLAB, Aspen, battery technologies and climate science. I am very comfortable working in a digital environment, and I am enthusiastic about learning to use new software technologies and programmes. More recently I have completed several Bright Network internship experiences in Consultancy, engineering technology, and banking, which I found insightful and inspiring.

  My role as a stock-management worker was to monitor inventory levels and distribute stock throughout the store within a set deadline, in collaboration with sales management. Meeting deadlines required effective teamwork and good planning to ensure our time was spent as productively as possible.
