Hi there!TL;DR I help start state and ISO 17025 compliant testing labs and those looking to optimize their workflows within the space. I've been a part of the cannabis/hemp industry since my first research projects at the University of Northern Colorado in 2016. I started working as an analytical chemist focusing on sample preparation , operation, and data analysis on HPLC systems and GC systems qualifying and quantifying different cannabinoids and residual solvents commonly found in the industry. From there I quickly began to take on more instrumentation and sample types, broadening my field of knowledge to include GCMS (including developing a method) for terpene analysis, ICP-MS for heavy metals, LC/MS/MS and GC-MSMS for pesticide analysis, as well as operating a microbial lab specializing in PCR analysis and bacterial plating. I've had hands on experience overseeing and maintaining every aspect of these instruments and their respective test types, and recently have started Equilibrium Scientific, a consulting firm dedicated to helping others navigate the convoluted world of cannabis testing. I personally am eager to help out as many people as I can in setting up/optimizing their facilities to capitalize on this emerging sector of industry while helping set the precedent for health and safety testing. Most notably though, I'd say that my biggest passion remains in people and their endeavors, and I encourage you to reach out with any discussion topics you'd consider pertinent! Personal hobbies and interests include rock climbing, gymnastics, powerlifting, motorcycles, and a myriad of different odds and bobs; always eager to learn new skills!
