I see custom equipment design projects through from concept/sales phase, through design phase and through manufacturing phase, and I specialize in the mechanical design and detailed prints of all aspects of these projects. I ensure these projects are completed on time and within budget. I implement engineering practices into the designs, including engineering calculations, finite element analysis, 3d modeling and 2d CAD. I design robot cells that comply with RIA safety standards. This includes robot selection based on robot reach and capacity, robot end effector design, robot programming, robot reach studies, cycle time studies and layout of the entire robot cell. I work closely with electrical engineers, welders, machinists and assemblers to make sure these projects are completely as they are intended and up to spec, and to make sure the custom equipment in these projects is built to spec and function as it is intended.

I wrote work instructions for various processes and procedures within the company for training and documentation purposes. I took on other various projects, such as building a new tundish for a continuous lead strip caster, refurbishing and building knurlers for lead pipe, and playing a large role in the design of molds for a lead casing around copper busbars. I took responsibility for a particular machine designed to continuously cast lead billets and the quality of the pieces it produces.
