I help clients resolve tax controversies and tax disputes before the IRS and state agencies. As a tax lawyer, I represent and defend clients in tax audits and appeals. I also help clients who are subject to collection and enforcement actions -- such as levies and tax liens -- from the IRS and state agencies. Sometimes this means challenging liability for the tax debt, and other times it involves negotiating an installment plan or offer in compromise.

I formed Cramer Legal, LLC in April 2011 as a law firm dedicated to serving the needs of entrepreneurs, small businesses, and individuals struggling with business and tax issues. I represent individuals and companies in tax disputes with the IRS and state agencies.

Drafted briefs, arguments, and motions in various state and federal courts including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Supreme Court of Ohio. Represented clients in both the prosecution and defense of original actions in the Supreme Court of Ohio. Counseled and represented clients in matters involving Ohio's Public Records Act and Open Meetings Act. Represented government agencies as outside counsel and represented private clients in matters adverse to the government.

Drafted comprehensive bench memoranda for cases assigned to Judge Griffin and reviewed memoranda prepared by other chambers. Prepared draft opinions in cases involving a wide range of criminal and civil matters. Researched all aspects of pending cases in preparation for oral arguments. Evaluated petitions for en banc review and assisted with the motions docket.

Taught two sections of Appellate Practice. Prepared students for intramural Moot Court competition and graded the briefs submitted to the competition.

Prepared draft orders and trial opinions in cases involving government contracts, tax, constitutional claims, and administrative controversies within the court’s jurisdiction. Served as point of contact for attorneys appearing before the judge. Attended status conferences and assisted the judge in preparing for oral arguments. Developed expertise with legal issues related to federal sovereign immunity and litigation involving the United States.
