Part of a team of developers, designers, and content editors that redesigned www.baesystems.com from the ground up. Once the environment was ready, I helped train and lead a distributed network of content editors who were responsible for data migration and daily maintenance. I was one of the people on our team that had early access to our social media presence and helped build it from near zero up to an award winning presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Google+. Our digital presence, including external website and social media usage, was ranked 6th in the FTSE 100 by Sociagility and was the highest non-B2C ranked company.I helped lead and coordinate the standardization of BAE Systems' intranet presence. The first project involved consolidating US operations into one SharePoint environment. We took one instance that was working well and extended it to incorporate business units across BAE Systems, Inc providing easier access to information. I also participated in a global effort to standardize our intranet around the globe. Starting in the United States, we designed an information architecture that was extensible to support all of our international businesses. Office 365 was our chosen environment, which made migrating some content from our old SharePoint 2010 environment straightforward.

Intranet Website – Supported an intranet with more than 100k documents. Oversaw a team of more than 40 web editors enabled to maintain their own content. Designed & developed new web pages, templates and styles. Internal Webcasting – Designed & implemented a solution to provide videos to employees across the company through a web interface. Solution included a self-service maintenance application so other communications team members could publish and manage videos and track statistics by view, video, site, and date. Implemented solution using existing resources incurring no extra costs to the company. Digital Signage – Designed & implemented a digital signage solution to communicate with hourly shop floor employees using an existing web content management system. The solution provided a standardized maintenance interface and scripts to automatically pull content from internal and external sources enabling content management by site management as well as company management. External Website Redesign – Worked on a team of four to gather requirements, redesign, implement and populate a completely new website scheduled to launch in July 2009. Policies & Procedures – Worked on a cross-functional team to design, implement, and populate a database driven series of web pages organizing all policies, procedures and work instructions. The system provides a consistent location for documents earning praise from third party auditors for improving process accessibility.

Macgregor Intranet – Re-branded and extended existing Intranet with a focus on a logical organization of decision-making information, data management applications, and Lotus Notes integration. Centralized account management for a single employee login across all applications. Reduced unrecognized revenue from >$100k to < $20k monthly, improved competitor tracking, synchronized contractual documents between legal, sales, and finance departments, and provided a self-service area for Marketing to update trade show dates, news, and headlines.Blackwatch Brokerage Website - Worked with a graphic design firm to implement static screen layouts into a template driven website. Macgregor Client Portal - Co-designed & co-developed a secure web application providing secure client information including data sourced from a proprietary issue tracking system, document management systems, and including a calendar of events, patch download system, and user discussion forums. Developed back-end support systems for data maintenance, SQL Server database design, and scheduled scripts to push data outside the firewall.Prime Broker Web Services – Architected and developed a series of extensible, bidirectional web services, paired with a client executable responsible for extracting stock trade data from a relational database and providing reports to brokers. Blackwatch Trade Reconciliation – Developed an application to run nightly at client sites to send daily trade data to Blackwatch for comparison against nightly broker data. Erroneous trade data is now discovered before settlement instead of at the end of the month, resulting in easier reconciliation.Blackwatch Brokerage Client Portal - Designed & developed a secure website displaying client specific financial data including monthly statements, invoices, and transaction history. Email notifications are sent on all new activity. Invoice approval times dropped from 30-60 days down to less than 8 hours.
