We are growing. We would love to engage you with the wondrous honey bee! This role allows me to ensure we keep our charm, pizzazz, the secret sauce, or whatever you want to call it... at the forefront of how we operate. Culture is hard to pin down and always changing, but we know it is what makes us special so we are bee-ing intentional with it.

I help our beekeepers bee successful!! I still get to keep bees too! I like to joke that I keep people and bees now... but it is a great honor to work with bees and the humans that keep them at BDT.

Keep bees, roughly 250 colonies, in the Raleigh-Durham area in urban settings - this includes rooftops. We work with and in the community to raise the awareness and understanding of the honey bee but also as an engagement tool to help companies connect their employees to the company and to the larger world.

- Ability to complete and deliver research trials- Set-up, conduct, and manage study/trial activities according to protocol, GLP, SOP, and/or sponser requirements.- Act proactively to identify problems and potential problems with all phases of study design, scheduling, and conduct of study.- Maintain study data and facility records in organized manner.

- Microscope maneuvers and general laboratory experiences (GLP of course).- Moving/transporting hives safely and without queen-loss (over 500 hives transported).- Feeding bees: includes making commercial grade feed to actual feeding of 1000's of hives.- Splitting and supering of hives as well as the knowledge to know when to do which.- No frames dropped (as of yet!) despite countless finger stings.- Queen IDing easily and quickly.- Queen rearing and breeding.- Set up of apiaries to study specifications.- Small hive beetle assessments, cleaning of traps, and removal.

- Manage the CDC student ambassador group (over 40 student volunteers total).- Coordinate bi-weekly class meetings for group focused on career presentation topics, presentation skills, professional development, and other relevant material .- Create/ maintain online training resource web page for ambassadors - Coordinate and manage coverage for the professional development series: LAUNCH that serves over 500 students annually. - Critique ambassador performance. - Manage incoming career presentation requests for Ambassadors from housing, Greek life, student groups, and CDC staff members.- Present creative career outreach workshops (including resume, interview, social media and job search preparation) sessions independently or with staff or ambassadors. - Conduct mid- and end-of-semester evaluations for CDC ambassadors and share constructive feedback on strengths and areas for growth.- Assist with recruitment/ interview process for new ambassadors each semester.- Assist with planning of training retreats, held once each semester.- Mentor Ambassadors and challenge them to reach specific measurable goals to support the mission of the CDC. - Track results of the Ambassador program and assess outcomes for future improvements

-Developed the rugby program from a student club that practiced anywhere it could to a fully funded entity housed by the university athletic department with its own dedicated field.-Work with students and admissions department to continuously recruit students/players.-Develop and maintain an active web presence and communication network with players, parents, fans, and interested parties (300+ on FB).-Manage logistics and administrative needs of the club and its $13,000 budget.-Created all of the team clothing and jerseys (three sets at $3000 a set).-Recruited 5 support/assistant coaches.-Developed, recruited, selected, and hired 5 student managers.-Finished first, second, and third years in NSCRO league with a winning record!-Joined NCRC league in June of 2014 to continue to strengthen team and improve opportunities.-Spread the joy of rugby to over 65 students who had never played the sport before.

For 2014-2015 academic year:-Manage/supervise 9 resident assistants with responsibilities for over 500 students.-Oversaw 3 buildings to ensure their upkeep and smooth operation.-Develop programming and events for academic year in each building (budgets total over $6,000).For 2011-2012, 2012-2013, and 2013-2014 academic years:-Manage/supervise 14 resident assistants each year (42) with responsibilities for over 600 students.-Oversaw 3 buildings to ensure their upkeep and smooth operation.-Developed programming and events for academic year in each building (budgets total over $4,000).-Oversaw early arrival processes and select/hire/supervise 4 early arrival workers each year.-Created, developed, and select/hire/supervised the Residence Life Administrative Assistant positions (9 total). -Led and managed the RA training process for the 2012-2013 academic year.-Led and managed the RA selection process for the 2013-2014 academic year.-Conducted 150-200 conduct cases.-Extreme experience in Symplicity's "RESIDENCE" and "ADVOCATE"

Managed McCormick Hall including: 3 Resident Assistants, 1 Senior Resident Assistant, Hall Council advising, facilities/maintenance issues, student conduct, programming, and budgets for each.

-Monitored 15 students each year (30 total) as they progressed through this AmeriCorp program. -Taught a class once a week each year on Civic Engagement and Leadership.-Worked with AmeriCorp to ensure that the program maintained accreditation.-Plan and coordinate large service events for students within TRIO.

-Maintain a rigorous travel schedule throughout North America (Midwest)-Present to audiences ranging from 10-300 on recruitment and retention, marketing, strategic planning, change management, crisis management, and leadership development -Facilitate workshops at various univesities/colleges and conferences
