I build the software that users see and interact with on their YouView TV boxes, having added features across YouView's stack - in YouView's UI, android TV apps and cloud services - in both older and newer codebases.

I helped build the front-end and back-end for the Kooth, Qwell and XenZone Clinical Platform websites, where I was able to make large contributions in a small team on a greenfield project. These websites helped remote therapists better support young people and adults with mental health issues.

I built custom WordPress websites using PHP, the WordPress and Genesis APIs, JavaScript, jQuery, SASS, CSS, HTML and Bootstrap. In a team of two, I helped develop six staging sites, including one that I was solely responsible for. I used Sketch to edit website images and ensure the styling of the websites matched the design mock-ups.

I assisted the Digital Marketing Team with SEO and managed to raise the MN2S website’s DA score from 37 to 43 within 2 months. To do this, I managed a link-building campaign which included researching relevant music and celebrity talent-based sites, reaching out to promoters and bloggers and handling PR and social media requests with the artists, managers, promoters and agents in order to place gain MN2S hyperlinks. All contacts were routinely followed up, with all activity reported to managers weekly within created and updated spreadsheets. I also proposed and wrote customised artist features for event and venue websites. I also edited, added content to and optimised written articles on celebrity talents, formatting and uploading them daily to the MN2S website using WordPress and Photoshop.

I assisted a management consultant in helping facilitate the integration of two charities – JW3 and LJCC. This involved creating, tracking, updating, formatting and summarising weekly progress reports, agendas, work timelines and deadlines, spreadsheets and diagrams/organisational structures and schedules of all departments relating to the merger in a clear way for The CEO, COO and Senior Management teams.I also arranged and attended department meetings from both organisations and provided department queries and requests for management. More miscellaneous tasks included organising staff seating plans, summarising visitor feedback data, collating and highlighting the output from a team-building week for management and assisting departments with small projects where possible.

I worked as a bartender and waiter for The Angel Inn pub, actively engaging with customers in a friendly and helpful way and meeting their needs and expectations. I strived to provide excellent customer service through good awareness, teamwork, prompt delivery and efficiency and pre-emptively handling potential issues. I supported other team members in busy periods, recognising where help was needed and taking on other tasks where possible. I also responded appropriately to customer issues and complaints, provided up-to-date food and drink information and specific recommendations and underwent health and safety, product and licencing training. Finally I helped improve the overall running of service by recommending specific solutions in weekly staff meetings.

I worked in a small department known as ‘ROQ’ (Requests, On-site call-outs and Queries). Here I investigated and resolved software and hardware issues through hands-on learning, research, and trial and error. I adopted additional tasks due to unplanned absences of other team members responding to on-site call-outs.
