About Benjamin Brantley
Hello there! 👋I am a lifelong learner. I love the process of improving what already exists and collaborating to create new possibilities. Culture is key- working alongside individuals who are empowered to develop and use their unique strengths excites me.With over a decade of library experience, every day I go to work with the goal of curating the customer experience. From the moment you step through the front doors (or accesses a library website or join a library program) you should feel welcome, valued, and in a space to learn. Each library employee makes this so.In my current role, I work closely with a team of nearly twenty incredible individuals. Together we provide stellar service to SE Fort Collins and neighboring communities. My team also assists library users in accessing materials, connecting them to programs and services, and troubleshooting some of the more technical aspects of library circulation.Amazing teams don't exist by chance. Good leaders provide consistent training, opportunities, unwavering support, value every voice, and most importantly, remember that everyone is human and has individual needs, backgrounds, career paths, and goals. Leaders who recognize (and even celebrate this!) are some of the best people I’ve worked for.My current “learning projects” involve Project Management and Process Improvement. I’ve developed overlapping skills within both via work experience, workshops, and many, many reading materials. A couple of my achievements in these areas:• Producing a quality, unified training toolkit to replace hundreds of separate, incomplete, outdated files. Staff across library branches are now trained using this comprehensive, easily digestible training toolkit compiled in a user-friendly visual dashboard. The content is easily kept up-to-date and changes tracked.• Streamlining the process of producing and hosting an annual all-staff training day. By utilizing PM tools, tasks are assigned efficiently, deadlines met consistently, and stakeholders are informed at appropriate intervals. The content of the training is relevant to each job title and presented in an engaging manner under a cohesive theme.I’m always on the lookout for future opportunities. My dream job would include a project management component- specializing in producing key deliverables that effect positive change for an organization.Keen to explore new opportunities or chat further? Feel free to reach out—I'm all ears! Let's connect and see where our paths might intersect. Looking forward to hearing from you!
