Furman University student Benjamin Knott has enjoyed opportunities as an active athlete and volunteer. He plans to major in business administration or sport management and graduate with his Bachelor’s degree in 2015. Prior to enrolling at Furman, he attended the Noble and Greenough School where he was a member of the varsity football, skiing, and baseball teams. He served as the ski team’s captain and earned selection to two All-League teams. Benjamin Knott is also an avid golfer, practicing and playing the sport throughout the summer and engaging in long drive competitions. Recently having notched a win in Massachusetts, he qualified for a regional tournament in North Carolina with the ultimate goal of earning a spot in the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championships in Nevada..Outside of school, Benjamin Knott recently volunteered 500 hours of service to South Boston’s Boys and Girls Club. Here, he helped children with their homework and supervised athletic activities and games. In high school, he spent part of his junior year abroad, helping eighth graders in The Bahamas establish a recycling program. Over the summers since 2006, Benjamin Knott has worked at The Official Red Sox Team Store on the famed Yawkey Way next to Fenway Park in Boston.
