Program initiatives inform research excellence and translation by increasing the societal and economic impact of the university's research outcomes, supporting the objectives of the Advancing Melbourne 2030 Strategy.One of my main responsibilities is supporting management and coordination of the University’s Proof of Concept Fund. Funding supports University researchers develop and validate early-concept start-ups and industry solutions. This involves managing an annual $1.5M budget; managing submission, review and post-award stage of 25-30 applications per year; managing internal reporting requirements; coordinating internal and external marketing and communications; collaborating and coordinating with other innovation and research translation support teams across the University ecosystem. My role at CETEC, a technical and scientific solutions consultancy for the built environment, started in early 2016 in the field services team as a technical consultant. In this role I specialized in providing a range of services surrounding technical and scientific solutions and optimization for a wide range of projects in the built environment.

Developed a commercialisation plan for a cutting-edge surface coating technology in order to assist key stakeholders with strategic decision making. Final report included an analysis of the technology, NPV and project cash flow risk evaluation, IP and free-to-operate analysis, other legal and contractual assessment and finally a business case development proposal to justify further investment, including recommendations for marketability and a pathway for commercial success.

During my honours year for my Bachelor of Science, I was given the opportunity to demonstrate and assist the learning of first year university science students in the physics laboratory environment.
