During that time, I advanced my proficiency in communicating with al the parties responsible for the proper and successful integration of sound systems and acoustic treatments. These parties include anyone and everyone involved in the construction or renovation of small business owned retail shops to large professional stadiums. Acoustical Engineering ConsultantAltel Systems, Inc Sep 2001 - Jan 2002• Contracted to research and report on the existing New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) design criteria for sound reinforcement in subway stations, to determine if they provided adequate coverage, sound pressure levels and speech intelligibility.• After determining the current design specifications were acoustically unacceptable, research was done to define a new set of criteria to achieve an acceptable level of performance, while still maintaining a low cost of installation. These findings were the basis of multiple subway station designs submitted by ALTEL to the NYCTA to upgrade stations damage by the collapse of the World Trade Center.

Acoustical Engineering ConsultantThe Larkin Group & R.C. Coffeen Mar 2000 - Dec 2000• Collaborated with Mr. Coffeen, contracted by The Larkin Group, in a design feasibility study of highway sound barriers near twelve residential areas to be affected by major roadway improvements.• Recorded existing noise conditions and extrapolated post roadway improvement noise levels in accordance with Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) guidelines. Adherence to the guideline required the learning and proficient utilization of two DOS programs that aided in the prediction of future sound levels and affects of barrier heights. Inputs and outputs from these programs had to constantly be reassembled into practical formats and integrated with existing information for effective evaluations.• From the findings of our research, the Larkin Group was able to present to MoDOT and then ultimately bid and construct the solutions we put forth.
