With an editorial background, a creative mind, and around 25 years of experience working in digital across a variety of roles and sectors, I aim to make the online world a better place for users. I have a wide skill set, having held positions as a content editor, senior producer, IA/UX, UI developer, and digital designer over the course of my career. These skills are all coupled to a sound editorial background gleaned at the BBC. I have strong customer/stakeholder-facing skills and extensive experience managing a multi-discipline production team, but I feel it's important to maintain a 'hands-on' approach and keep up to date with industry trends. I have worked on programmes such as the Money Advice Service, MoneyForce - the Financial Capability programme for the UK Armed Forces, the UK National Police Portal, and the global rebranding of BP. I am passionate about using digital media to empower and inspire people, especially those who face challenges and barriers in their lives.I took a career semi-break to found and chair a new charity in my home town that offers a creative space for users with physical, learning, and communication disabilities and those who support them. We enable self-actualisation through creative writing, artwork, music and drama.
