As the first Science and Technology Attaché in the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ireland, my work was focused on developing new methods and means for:- the promotion of Irish STEM in New England,- to act as a liaison between the DFA/Science Foundation Ireland and New England,- and to build greater connectivity between the innovation ecosystems in Greater Boston and Ireland.During my time at the Consulate General of Ireland, I worked to promote the Irish diaspora in STEM, drafted internal communiqués relating to STEM topics of Irish relevance, and assisted in the development and execution of Irish missions to the United States. Topics and visits included partnerships in semiconductor industries, promoting opportunities for Irish researchers in the US, and fostering closer ties between New England and Ireland-based academic and innovation institutions.

My work in the Dr. Kempa lab involved the synthesis and characterization of heterostructured nanoparticles. Our work focused on the use of silver halide intermediates synthesized in aqueous solution, where upon apply photo- and chemical-stimuli, a secondary phase would be generated on the surface of the parent particle. During my time, I mentored multiple undergraduates, taught younger members of the lab instrumentation and lab techniques, and laid the ground work for future projects to come.

I founded the Homewood Science Policy Group in August of 2018. During my two years as president, I worked to build interest in science policy on campus, facilitated lectures from guest speakers, hosted paneled discussions, and organized science policy poster presentations in the Annapolis General Assembly. As president, I also worked to organize a functional group and executive board that would continue to function and organize science policy related activities. This involved getting organized by the University's Graduate Representative Organization and the Career Center.
