As a Senior Sports Media major at High Point University, I am pursuing my passion for broadcasting and video editing in the sports industry. I am a Communication Fellow, which means I receive a scholarship and mentorship for my academic and professional development in this field.I also work as a broadcaster for the High Point Club Hockey team, where I use cameras to record and livestream games to hundreds of fans. I engage the audience enthusiastically and accurately by announcing games in real time, and I research teams and players to provide relevant information. Through this experience, I have improved my problem-solving, communication, and volunteer management skills, as well as my technical abilities in streaming and editing. In addition, I have gained valuable experience in serving and leading at Student Life, a summer camp organization that provides mission opportunities for students across the country. I communicated with various stakeholders, coordinated groups of volunteers, and helped deliver supplies and assistance to over 30 mission sites. This opportunity taught me how to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, and how to make a positive impact in the community. I am eager to learn more about the sports media industry and the opportunities that it offers for my career growth. I always seek new challenges and ways to enhance my skills and knowledge.
