Electronics and systems design and implementation of a wireless databuoy with remote streaming of hydrophone audio from a buoy situated 2.5km off the coast of Blyth, UK. Electronics and PCB design, housing units, embedded Linux on Raspberry Pi, bespoke C++ software for reliably streaming uncompressed high resolution audio to shore for saving and realtime processing. Conversion and interfaced to you tube for a live stream available for the public. Including a simulator of virtual modems in a virtual sea to test external sensor hardware prior to deployment at sea. Here the PC RS232 serial port appears to the sensor node as if it is a functioning NM3 modem - messages are then relayed between other virtual NM3 modems and out to additional hardware sensor nodes.
