Licensed Surgical Assistant with a focus on Orthopedic Surgery. Assist in the planning, preparation and execution of various surgical procedures, including Total Joint Replacements and varying Spinal Procedures. Spinal Procedures to include: Discectomies, Laminectomies, ACDF, PLIF, and TLIFs. Responsible for the organization of instruments and implants in preparation for the procedure. Responsible for assisting the surgeon by providing skilled knowledge of the procedure as well as physically providing visibility, and procedure specific tasks that enable a smooth and safe progression of the surgery. Responsible for timely and safe closure of multiple tissue layers, and transition of the patient to post-operative department.
