I developed a procedure and excel workbook to assist in the design of dust collection ducting systems to work in conjunction with the custom machine enclosures Corbilt provides their customers to control fugitive dust. I was also tasked with investigating their prototype cyclone system and comparing it to publicly sourced literature in an effort to validate the expected system performance.

I was brought onto the VMAC team to conduct a testing program on a new product being released. I managed this testing program independently with support from the engineering group, reporting directly to the Quality and Engineering Manager. I was tasked with developing, building and conducting the testing procedures and apparatus required to confirm performance and operational flexibility targets of the product. Challenges overcome include design and fabrication of a platform allowing for numerous test configurations, VFD motor control programming, developing and implementing a data acquisition system utilizing an Arduino microcontroller and multiple sensors, and troubleshooting unusual system events.The management team was kept informed throughout the testing program via verbal and email updates. Final reports and presentations were prepared after data analysis was complete and conclusions were formed.

Blue Coast Research is a relatively young 10,000sq.ft metallurgical testing laboratory servicing the mining industry. I was heavily involved in its inception and largely responsible for design, construction, and commissioning of the facilities. I managed several aspects of the lab including: ● Sourcing a suitable facility (based on budget, size and layout) then designing a suitable floor and equipment layout. This process was followed by an in-depth assessment of required infrastructure changes. ● Manager and primary contact for contractors during all major and most minor infrastructure projects. This included costing/budgeting, scheduling, initial design and subsequent problem solving. ● Managed and directed fellow members of the Blue Coast team assisting in the fit-out of the facility ● Primary designer and fabricator of custom equipment, work spaces/benches as well as repairing and modifying purchased new/used equipment to meet reliability and safety standards. ● Implemented building wide compressed air, localized vacuum air, dust control systems for crushing and assay, and overcame design challenges with the chemical fume hood system implemented.

Blue Coast Metallurgy is a small consulting company that specializes in developing and optimizing metallurgical processes for the mining industry. ● Performed multiple on-site process surveys (grinding and flotation) along with pilot plant programs ● Managed and directed 4-10 member audit teams as well as trained operators on pilot plant operation ● Liaised with project members and Clients to collect, prepare, and analyze metallurgical performance data ● Prepared and peer reviewed project memos, presentations and reports.
