Benoit is Director Centralized Investment Advisory and International Distribution, is registered as a Portfolio Manager within 1832 Asset Management L.P. and 1832 Asset Management U.S. Inc. Ben has 30 years of experience in the financial services industry managing private client, not-for-profit (NFP), trust, corporate and institutional assets nationally and internationally. Having spent all of his financial services career in Wealth Management starting with Cassels Blaikie Investment Management, the predecessor to what is now 1832 Asset Management L.P., Ben spent several years working with institutional clients, unions and syndicates and has spent 10 years building client centric mandates, strategies and portfolios for private wealth clients domestically and abroad and was a member of Scotia Wealth Management’s asset mix committee, investment committee, strategy committee, product committee and the advisory committee in an effort to bring a macro view and a unified structure to the client centric delivery of the Private Investment Counsel service and offering. Ben has spent the last six years creating sub-advisory platforms nationally and internationally and creating unique and innovative leadership and relationship manager resource programs within Private Investment Counsel. While the various programs together provide increased oversight and mitigate regulatory risk, they create a consistent, repeatable and proven development and career progression for each Relationship Manager within Private Investment Counsel and thus collectively these programs are truly a competitive advantage in the industry in attracting and organically developing top industry talent which continues to contribute to the sustainable growth of the Scotia Wealth Management Private Investment Counsel business.
