Primarily, I began the job as a shop assistant working behind the till being responsible for customer interactions in a busy petrol station. Over time I began to take on more responsibility and ended up training new members of staff when they came onboard and was also a key bearer being responsible for both opening and closing down the shop myself with responsibilities such as cashing up at the end of an evening and making sure that all paperwork was completed properly for the admins to confirm the next morning before making sure that the site of the petrol station was secure before leaving. I ended up having a fantastic relationship with the owners and the permanent staff there and was able to sustain part time hours when returning home from university within the holidays.
