The Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District (DID) is a non-profit entity that maintains a higher standard of care and behavior throughout a 120+ block area. Its mission is to support, preserve, create and enhance a vibrant, competitive and thriving downtown that attracts and retains businesses, employees, residents and visitors.

Minnesota GreenStar is a leading residential building standards and certification program created by Minnesotans for Minnesotans. The program promotes healthy, durable, high-performance design and construction for both new and existing homes across Minnesota. Fundamental to the program is an objective, third-party verification system that assures consumers that the new home or remodeling project performs as designed.Our green certification program takes a whole-systems approach applying five key concepts of green building programs – energy efficiency, resource efficiency (including durability), indoor environmental quality, water conservation, site and community – to eight aspects of the traditional building process – outdoor and site, building envelope and systems, mechanicals, electrical and lighting, plumbing systems and fixtures, finish materials and coatings, waste management – in order to improve the impact of green building programs on individuals, their families, the community, and the environment.

Many storefronts on University Avenue are vacant, due in part to construction of the Green Line (also known as Central Corridor Light Rail Transit). Increased vacancy rates create a downward spiral as the remaining businesses draw fewer customers. This has a negative impact on the surrounding community.We hope to disrupt this cycle by matching building owners of vacant spaces with people who are looking for “nesting” spaces – short-term opportunities to try out new businesses, galleries, or other types of workspace and event space.

Management of aspects of a variety of projects, including mixed-use and transit-oriented developments, an urban grayfield redevelopment, and a conservation development.Principal responsibilities included communication with vendors and partners, leasing, marketing, maintaining project schedules, and community relations.Additional responsibilities included municipal approvals, grantapplications, website production and management, historic preservation, site planning, and architectural review.

Works Progress is an artist-led public art & design studio based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We create artistic platforms for people to engage, connect, converse and create with/in their neighborhoods and communities, across creative and cultural boundaries. We work collaboratively with other artists and organizations and produce our own public art projects and programs.
