Led the Tracing (data collection) team through numerous improvements and cost savings efforts solving complex data acquisition issues on an everyday basis. During this time I also mentored a team of remote academy engineers through their initial coursework, internships, and then full time positions as junior engineers on the team.

Projects at spruce varied from ETL to integrating with banking systems, implementing OAuth across internal and external applications, and building APIs to manage the information necessary for title, loan, and other regional requirements throughout the country. The technology stack consisted of Kotlin/Spring Boot and Rails applications deployed to GKE through Helm charts.

Worked on all aspects of a greenfield e-commerce platform providing a solution for brick and mortar stores to quickly set up an online presence as well as building a near real-time inventory sharing system that integrates with other e-commerce platforms, manufacturers, and POS systems. Responsibilities included building VPCs and other cloud infrastructure, data modeling, building RESTful resources, and creating the event based data pipeline.

Worked on a large public website built with more technologies, languages, and frameworks than I can list here.Originally was hired as a Java Engineer working on the social web applications Bodybuilding.com has before moving to a Team Lead role and then on to a Technical Architect on the data warehouse and business intelligence team.

Maintained and developed tools for the marketing department and product onboarding. Projects ranged from campaign creation, digital asset management, and content management. There were multiple Java based technology stacks using Hibernate, Flex, Backbone, and JAX-RS.

Implemented several components of the mobile site using Wicket, Guice, and JAX-RS.

Developed the companies analytics and reporting software using Wicket, Spring, Hibernate, and JAX-RS along with several internal tools.
