The role of a customer team member is extremely customer based and consisted of the completion of a number of tasks, many of which required a high degree of face-to-face interaction with members of the general public. Additional tasks included;•Utilising my ability to communicate clearly, efficiently and effectively when dealing with customers enquires, complaints and when processing sales •Recommending additional products to the customer to suit their needs if their desired product is not in stock•Using electronic till systems to log purchases, process purchases and to ensure pricing of each item was correct•Flexibility was key during this role as shifts changed on a weekly basis with variations in both start time and finish time•Working well within a team and ensuring that all tasks were completed prior to the evening closing of the store - this entailed being well organised and having good time management skills to ensure sufficient time was available to allow products to sell once a reduction in price was made. Helping colleagues when a difficult situation occurs and also during busy periods, this was overcome by prioritising select tasks with customer satisfaction being the main determining factor.

Immediately after finishing my university degree I undertook a period of voluntary work for Bantham Estate who have recently diversified and have now established a game bird shoot within its grounds. The tasks I undertook whilst working as a volunteer entailed the following;• Working as part of a team to select suitable locations to erect game bird pens taking into account public footpath locations and also building locations• Providing a committed service to ensure that public footpaths across the estate were clearly sign posted and also well maintained• Liaising with the estate manager to prioritise tasks and allocate suitable completion dates for each task. My role at Gunsko enabled me to develop a range of fundamental qualities and characteristics which I believe are paramount within any job role. Acting as a project co-ordinator and being heavily involved within site feasibility assessments my role comprised of the following; •Researching potential solar farm sites electronically to gather information in regards to site capacity, grid connection, access routes, political makeup of the nearby councils and also landownership details•Undertaking site visits and conducting landscape and visual impact assessments which enabled the identification of any designated areas or properties where the solar development would be visible from. If the solar development was to be developed screening would be required, recommended screening methods were also identified.•Produced technical reports incorporating the findings of both desk based research and site visits. I also ensured the technical reports consisted of concise but detailed information providing a sufficient report on a potential solar site and completed on time and to a high standard•Liaised and discussed the contents of reports to senior members of the organisation, utilised my communication qualities by listening to each members views and putting my view forward in a professional manner•Communicated clearly and effectively to senior members of the organisation in regards to site feasibility and the planning of site visit routes, this was done via emails, face-to-face and by phone callsIn order to be successful whilst working for Gunsko I was required to be committed to every task undertaken and have a willingness to develop an understanding of the undertaking of landscape and visual impact assessments which required my personal opinion on affected areas.
