Investigating the production of medically interesting terbium isotopes and the subsequent preparative chemical separation using chromatographic techniques. Co-sponsored by the University of Surrey and the National Physical Laboratory, UK.Collaboration - Worked with institutes from across Europe through the CERN-MEDICIS collaborationsProject Management - delivery of a 4 year project at NPL with clear impact and outputsAcademic Writing - Preparation of reports, publishing in peer-reviewed journals and in trade journalsCommunication of research - attended several UK and international conferences and presented my research via oral and poster presentations.Laboratory skills - experiment planning, documentation of processes, methods and results. Represented the Chemistry Department by presenting my personal experience of Industrial placement year to prospective students and their parents. Assisted in touring parents around the departmental facilities answering queries they had about the course and university.

12-month year industrial work experience in a research laboratory.Roles included:- Routine analytical analysis of in-vitro samples- Organisation and completion of a related research project which required extensive literature review.- Balanced routine, project and university work, maintaining a consistently high standard. Multi-tasked effectively- Training new members of staff in methods and instrumentation that were used routinely.
