Used large-scale data analysis and problem solving to build a standardized pipeline for generating and processing physiological, morphological, and genetic data from 15,000+ individual mouse and human neurons. 15 direct reports, including 2 PhD level scientists and a team devoted to tissue intake and processing. • Led project from conception to completion to deliver to academic customers the first large-scale, online database of mouse and human neuron types: celltypes.brain-map.org• Drove the unprecedented comprehensive characterization of mouse visual cortex neurons, resulting in a benchmark ontology and a first-author 2019 Nature Neuroscience Resource Article• Increased throughput from ~1000 to more than 5000 characterized neurons per year using feedback from large-scale data analysis projects and other operational improvements• Built relationships and coordinated data collation from two international academic laboratories with diverse data acquisition streams leading to a large robust collective dataset (NIH-funded effort)• Led effort devoted to the acquisition, transport, processing and distribution of human neurosurgical tissue• Chaired the committee for the 2016 and 2017 Allen Institute Showcase Symposia: a 2-day Institute-wide conference highlighting team science accomplishments
