Educated to MA in International Development, after completing a Spanish Licenciatura in History (equivalent to BA plus MA). Have complemented my studies with music, in the speciality of cello to professional level. I currently work for Housing Justice looking after and connecting with over 120 night shelters across England. As a best practice and innovation officer, I'm interested in improving the way shelters work with people experiencing homelessness, finding new ways of supporting them and creating new spaces of encounter.Previously I worked for Hope Into Action Coventry as an empowerment worker between 2020 and 2021, and for HOPE Coventry delivering the Coventry Winter Night Shelter between 2017 and 2020. We welcomed homeless people sleeping on the streets during the winter, and provided them with a safe space to stay for the night and wrap-around support to help them to leave homelessness and move into better accommodation. I've worked at Coventry Cathedral in different roles, as a member of the schools team, guiding groups of students and delivering workshops, in the logistics of the Events department, and as a verger. I have been an intern at Concern Universal (now United Purpose), an International Development charity, and have volunteered with World Student Christian Federation - Europe, being a coordinator for their annual international summer camp in 2013-14. I have also worked in hospitality: Delis, cafés and restaurants. I am a Spanish native speaker, and I have acquired proficiency in English through having lived and worked in Wales and England since 2013.
