As the Facilities Manager I provide campus-wide leadership, coordination, and administrative oversight to facilities planning, maintenance and housekeeping for the efficient operation of the physical facilities on the Epiphany School campus. I am responsible for operations of the physical facilities, including a wide array of services: maintenance, environmental compliance, preventative maintenance, repairs, renewal and replacement, provision of utilities and energy management, grounds keeping, custodial, fire and life safety, waste disposal and recycling, facility vendor management, and logistical support for campus events. My role also includes providing and delivering superior levels of communication and customer service to the Epiphany School staff, families, and the communities Epiphany School supports

While looking at contemporary American homebuilding practices, I, along with YesHaus co-founder Duke Elliott, saw a widespread willingness to sacrifice quality, homeowner health and energy efficiency, all for the sake of maximizing speed and minimizing costs. Unwilling to accept this paradigm, we challenged ourselves to build a highly-crafted home that is both energy efficient AND cost competitive. We assembled a team of like-minded folks who shared our passion for quality craftsmanship, cutting-edge green technology, and a love of people. The result was YesHaus –– a “YES!” to quality, energy efficiency, and cost competiveness.YesHaus Proud Moments▶ The first YesHaus was built and sold in 2012. The proud new homeowners are thrilled with the energy efficiency. Just as importantly, since moving in their 5 year-old son has been able to sleep through the night for the first time in his life thanks to the use of healthy building materials. ▶ Our homes receive an average HERS rating of 47. This means the YesHaus is 53% more efficient than a typical newly-built home and 83% more efficient than a typical pre-existing home on the market today.▶ In March of 2013, a 2000 square foot, 3 bedroom, 2 bath YesHaus home in Bozeman (in the chilly Montana climate) used just over $14 for one month of heat and hot water. ▶ YesHaus builds both spec homes and custom homes; homes in Big Sky, Montana (a ski community) are projected to use $260-$270 per YEAR for heat and hot water.▶ Featured builder in the 2013 Parade of Homes.Since its construction, the first YesHaus’s have delivered energy savings far beyond their projected numbers, and we will only continue to improve energy efficiency and performance in the coming iterations. But our vision is not simply about building physical houses. YesHaus is about building homes that connect people to their innate sense of well-being and that unite the principles of environmental stewardship with care for the homeowner.

We’ve built strong relationships and become a leader in the weatherization training industry. We are customer centered, as well as student centered, and devoted to improving the quality of life worldwide.Our products and services are developed in-house using tried and tested methods, with commitment to quality and technical accuracy, and yet the result is always fresh and creative for the user. We focus on a hands-on training approach in which students can roll up their sleeves, get dirty, and play.EMC Proud Moments▶ Developed the wildly popular, hands-on, full-scale green workforce training tool: The Pressure House. It demonstrates a full range of pressure diagnostic measures that commonly occur in a home and affect the health and safety of the occupants. An EMC-exclusive software program developed for the iPad communicates with the Pressure House and a smoke machine to allow trainers and students to demonstrate how pressure conditions change while performing everyday activities like turning on the clothes dryer.▶ Lead team that developed Master That™ and creates instructional products including more than 80 visual, web-based “How-To” applications for use on portable electronic devices such as iPhones and iPads. Many focus on energy efficiency and show students how to perform critical weatherization measures in a step-by-step format. These technologies solve the problem of ineffectual training in a high-demand period of programmatic “ramping up,” and most importantly, they help students understand the true effect of their work in greening our living environments.▶ Established 6 top-quality weatherization and home energy training centers across the Unites States. As a partner and home builder, I worked to drive new business by ensuring exceptional quality standards while pursuing new environmentally responsible building processes. I designed structures and built energy efficient residences. I managed our various home building projects and provided project estimates. In addition to new homes, we completed remodels with the same enthusiasm for quality and pursuit of home efficiency.
