All duties as stated above 45% of the time as well as Apprenticeship Training Specialist for 45% of the time, and general marketing, participation in Department of Labor Career Fairs by recruiting businesses and acting as a business liaison duties for 10% of the time. Apprenticeship Training: consulted & conferred with businesses, unions & organizations to establish/maintain apprenticeship programs. Verified information and documentation presented by sponsor (employer) and apprentice. Acted as a liaison for businesses to gain information on employment practices, recruitment practices, and various employment regulations. Created, modified, and selected appropriate work/wage schedule per industry and/or company. Initiated and implemented registration process for apprentices. Reviewed, discussed and articulated regulations, policies and procedures set forth by State and Federal statutes with both apprentices and business sponsors. Monitored progression of apprenticeship program as appropriate (example: contact Vocational-Technical Schools, verify field ratios, verify that the correct % of wages paid to apprentices and work closely with the Department of Consumer Protection.) Developed/wrote reports and reviewed documentation. Assisted employers with Affirmative Action Plans, talent acquisition and retention, as well as compliance reports. Referred sponsors to appropriate agencies as needed. Interpreted & presented State and Federal Laws regarding apprenticeship, wage and hour, & licensing. Knowledge of labor agreements and have worked with various Unions. Develop and deliver PowerPoint presentations to employer groups or school groups as needed. Recruitment of apprenticeship candidates through in-school fairs and presentations. Collaborated with Federal and State agencies to ensure proper compliance. Developed an Excel program to monitor all sponsors and apprentices.
