I was hired as a Converting Electrician when we built UCTAD in 1997. We started with AB PLC-5's and a mix of VFD and Servo Drives. With an expansion and many upgrades I now work on mostly AB ControLogix with VFD's and Kinetix Drives. Communication has evolved to mostly ENET. HMI's from Panelview to RSView SE and ME. I did a 3 year stint in Distribution as a Controls Tech working on Conveyor systems and Palletizers. Some Tissue Manufacturing experience with Honeywell DCS.

Multicraft Technician on gravure printing presses. This was in the relay logic days before PLC's. We converted one Press to Automax. We had one machine on AB PLC2. Drives were DC with line shafts.

Served on 2 Cutters and 1 shore unit. I was an Electronic Technician and worked on radar and communication equipment on Coast Guard Stations, 41 foot utility boats, 82 foot patrol boats, 65 foot yard tugs as well as Lighthouses including radio beacons, fog horns and remote monitoring equipment. After graduating from US Navy ET-C7 school I had the ET1 billit on a Polar Class Icebreaker (USCGC Polar Sea). I am proud to have been aboard when we circumnavigated North America while supporting Polar operations in Thule Greenland and Antarctica. I have been initiated as a Blue Nose, Red Nose, Shellback and A Golden Dragon.
