About Bert Stevens
Having worked in the games industry for a while now, I have come to enjoy (and experience!) the many challenges in creating video games. Working within technical, time and budget constraints really tests your resolve and leads you to creative solutions. Together with a colleague we reviewed an existing IBM AS400 based web catalogue. The goal of the internship was to create a platform independent, web based application. Stored procedures were ported to Java and moved into a Derby database for prototyping. The front-end was mainly JSP based.The actual logic was deployed separately on a Tomcat application server and consumed using SOAP (XML, axis).The internship was awarded with a price from KBC (a Belgian Banking Company) as part of the top 3 internships that year.
