Project Delivered: Market ExitIn 2016/17 Yingli Green Energy GmbH (solar panel manufacturer and distributer) decided to liquidate its French and German businesses. As European Finance Director was tasked by shareholders to find most efficient exit strategy. Explored market to identify potential buyers; prepared redundancy strategy for existing staff; negotiated cancellation of existing contracts; prepared budget for liquidation process; and settled all outstanding invoices with external creditors. Succeeded in platforming business to exit market whilst maintaining reputation.

Succeeded in setting up accounting function for newly formed business from scratch giving ability to trade affectively.

As CFO Europe was tasked with creating tax efficient head office. Mapped financial and supply chain requirements for European business; liaised with 3rd party consultants on establishment of legal and tax framework; recruited finance and supply chain departments; created external distribution companies; and presented business case to swiss revenue to qualify for low tax threshold. Succeeded in achieving effective tax rate of less than 4%.

As Finance Director was tasked with creating a low risk currency hedging platform. Identified and evaluated currencies traded in business; determined level of exposure associated with each currency; developed and promoted hedging strategy to internal stakeholders; identified hedging partners; and created processes and controls around strategy. Succeeded in minimizing currency risk to 2% of annual turnover.

As CFO, was tasked with setting this new structure up. Learn new internal control requirements as dictated by SOX; hired external consultants for legal requirements; mapped out current control processes; designed documentation for SOX processes; and tested compliance outcomes. Succeeded in making Decotrade Switzerland fully compliant with new SOX requirements.
