I oversee public relations and marketing for a non-profit Critical Access Hospital. Duties include social media and website maintenance for the hospital and family practice clinic; creating advertising for radio, newspaper, billboards, and social media; taking and editing photos and videos; coordinating participation at health fairs and community events; writing press releases and giving interviews; writing monthly reports; and more. I also serve as the Public Records Officer. I hold leadership roles in several committees: Employee activities, recognition, and wellness; policies and procedures, facility signage, and marketing.

I have since accepted a new position within the same hospital, but as Administrative Assistant my primary responsibility was to provide support for the CEO and administrative team, along with the Board of Commissioners. In addition to routine tasks such as mail handling, bank deposits, organizing calendars, scheduling meetings, taking minutes, writing draft reports, and making travel arrangements, I serve as the public records officer. I also drew on prior journalism experience to assist as needed with public relations and marketing efforts.

I wrote news and covered events spanning Okanogan, Ferry and parts of Douglas counties. My beats included city, crime and school news in south Okanogan County, north Douglas County; public utility districts; county government, and hot-button local issues such as the gray wolf population, all-terrain vehicles, state and federal land acquisitions, and the legalization of marijuana. I also helped paginate using Quark and contributed to special sections covering a wide range of topics throughout the year.

I wrote news covering government, education, police, community events and more for four towns in Okanogan and Douglas counties. The paper had a staff of two so my responsibilities also included copy editing, photo editing and paginating using InDesign.

I worked with a team to broadcast live breaking coverage of wildfires and major collisions and occasionally read the news on-air, but my primary focus was writing stories - at least 10 per day, usually with audio clips - as well as updating the station's website and Facebook pages. The coverage area is comprised of three counties - Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan. My stories covered everything except sports.

Performed copy editing for the Mirror's sister newspapers, the Okanogan Valley Gazette-Tribune and the Quad City Herald.

I wrote articles and took photographs covering a variety of topics and community events for three towns. I also took on editorial duties after about the first six months there.
