In 2019 I left my full time job of process improvement at a local hospital network because my 18month old daughter at the time had suffered a major seizure causing her to lose her entire left side for over a month. By the grace of God she regained her abilities back little by little. All with a smile. She was born with a brain malformation and glaucoma. The syndrome she has is called Sturge-Weber Syndrome. I stay at home with her now. She keeps me very busy and I homeschool her as well. She has multiple therapy appointments throughout the week as well as doctor appointments to maintain her health. We made 11 trips to Cincinnati OH in 2022. Struggling to find a means of support was near impossible with what we faced but God has turned our difficulties into mercies and blessings. In 2022 after support from friends and family, I took a jump into vendor marketing with my personal photography. I have always enjoyed photography - taking my first class in 6th grade at a middle school in North Carolina where we lived for a couple of years. Although my life certainly hasn’t slowed down, it has brought me appreciation of small details in life, which was how Appalachian by grace Photography was born. I have also been awarded the position of contributing photographer for a large stock imaging firm. I look forward to continued growth. I am Appalachian by the grace of God.
