Education Support Assistant
CurrentAs an Education Support Assistant at the Field Studies Council, I play a crucial role in supporting environmental education and scientific learning. My responsibilities involve operating and maintaining various environmental recording systems, such as the Met Office climatological station and acid rain monitoring systems, ensuring accurate and reliable data collection. I manage and upkeep technical resources, including fieldwork equipment, laboratory apparatus, and ICT systems, ensuring they are ready for use in educational activities.In addition to my technical duties, I assist in delivering hands-on scientific education by demonstrating techniques, accompanying field trips, and helping students collect and analyse data. I also contribute to sustainability and conservation initiatives on-site, promoting environmental awareness among students and visitors.My role demands a thorough understanding of scientific principles, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Through my work, I have enhanced my skills in data management, technical maintenance, and educational support, all while fostering a passion for environmental stewardship. This position has allowed me to develop a strong foundation in environmental science and education, preparing me for further opportunities in the field.
