In this role I was part of a remote team providing frontline assistance to students sitting live exams remotely due to Covid-19.

Alongside my role as a Student Information Assistant in the university careers service, I undertook training to provide peer-assisted careers guidance to first year students. This involved supporting students to develop their career plans by directing them to use the resources available on the university employability portal, providing insight from my own university experiences, and providing pastoral support.

I co-led the team of volunteers for this student-led social enterprise trading organic local produce on Penryn and Falmouth university campuses. Responsibilities included: • Running the weekly customer-facing stall, co-ordinating deliveries and leading the team of volunteers to weigh and sort produce into reusable bags before it is distributed to customers.• Attending national conferences on behalf of the enterprise including the NUS Sustainability Summit and Student Eats Conference, delivering presentations and networking.• Liaising with current and potential suppliers, as well as being the point of contact with funding providers and sustainable business consultants.• Reviewing expenditure spreadsheets, planning yearly budgets with our funding and deciding strategic direction for the enterprise.

I managed Penryn Produce social media during the first few months after it was launched, promoting sustainable diets and the benefits of eating seasonal produce, and posting weekly updates and recipe inspiration.

I co-led this volunteer project during my final year of study, which meant I was responsible for leading weekly volunteer sessions, recruiting and training new committee and supervising volunteers along with carrying out general yard duties and delegating tasks. I was also required to maintain financial records for the project and to liaise closely with both the Flicka Donkey Sanctuary and the Falmouth and Exeter Students' Union to provide a safe volunteering opportunity for students.

I spent a year as Social Media Manager for the student-led volunteer project at the Flicka Foundation Donkey Sanctuary. This involved managing the Facebook and Instagram accounts for the project, posting regular updates, promoting conservation and animal welfare and recruiting new volunteers.

I was elected to represent students on matters of Environment and Ethics during my final year of undergraduate study. This involved working closely with the SU President Student Experience to co-ordinate sustainability and behavioural change campaigns, the most successful of which was awarded the Collaboration Award at the National Societies and Volunteering Awards for its innovative approach to engaging different stakeholders.In this capacity I regularly represented the Students' Union in working group with both the University of Exeter and Falmouth University and their shared service provider FX Plus. These working groups included Energy and Water, Biodiversity and Waste and Recycling. In this role I lobbied successfully for both Universities to declare a state of climate emergency, and following this contributed to their climate action plans. I was the only undergraduate member of the University of Exeter's Climate and Environment Emergency Working Group, which met monthly from May 2019 to November 2020 and produced the White Paper which has shaped the University's response.

In this voluntary role I represented the student voice on sustainable catering and procurement across the Cornwall university campuses. This involved working with caterers and procurement staff to review supply chains, researching local, ethical food supply and running behavioural change campaigns to increase sustainable diets and reduce the use of single-use packaging on campus.
