Management of Elective Care Outpatient and Inpatient service, ensuring that patients, relatives and carers receive the highest quality of care including respect and dignity within safe services and that ensure that my teams provide continuity of care. Managing the surgical services and delivery of Consultant activity for Harrogate and District Foundation. My role is to deliver against National targets for surgical healthcare. One of my most important responsibilities is ensuring high quality care is provided on time ensuring accuracy and clinical safety are paramount. Key Responsibilities include:• Working with clinical colleagues to ensure surgical departments are providing a safe environment for our patients both in clinics, diagnostic areas or wards• Achieving consistent delivery of high quality services that meet patient needs and expectations• Accountable for delivery of national and local performance measures including inpatient/outpatients waiting times, 18 weeks RTT performance at specialty, • Support the organisation in the delivery of cancer targets• Line managing rota co-ordinator and surgical co-ordinator• Own and manage administrative budget circa £600k• Accountable and lead for surgical services in implementation of digital dictation system• Managing ad-hoc escalations and emergencies on a daily basis• Working with Matron for PAAU to look at developing a cohort of pre-operative assessed orthopaedic day surgery patients to fill short notice theatre slots throughout winter• Negotiating and managing challenging consultants to ensure patients are treated in a timely manner• Senior Manager on call out of hours for Harrogate Hospital

Responsible for monitoring and managing performance across the PCT and community services. Working with different departmental teams, I held Directors to account gaining assurance on delivery organisational objectives and National targets for both performance and quality.Key responsibilities included:• Attending local, regional and national meetings representing PCT on contracting and performance• Supporting multiple directorates with the development of local and multi-organisational developments to ensure delivery of key objectives• Working in partnership with public health and local authorities to ensure their success• Developed the annual business plan with clear action plan accompanying each trust objective and sub-objective. Identifying and monitoring all local and national measures associated with it’s delivery

During this time I held 2 roles. Initially I was hired as an Information Analyst working for 3 directorates (Strategy and Commissioning, Prescribing and Public Health) providing analytical support, information and intelligence unique to the needs of each department. Between 2004 and 2005 I was offered a development opportunity to work with the Strategy and Commissioning directorate as a Contracting Manager.Key responsibilities included: • Developed an electronic data system to monitor and manage contracted performance targets such as the inpatient/outpatient waiting lists for each trust that the PCT contacted activity with.• Provided prescribing data and analysis from the national ePact system to enable the prescribing team to manage contracts with GP practices• Supported demographic analysis of deprivation and mortality rates for public health including the development of the annual public health plan• Attended contracting meetings for the delivery of cancer services and Ambulance services with all relevant organisations
