1971-1973 I worked on Wall Street first for High Net Worth Brokers and then in the syndicate department doing the spreads and attending due diligence meetings. During this time, I did a lot of shopping for gifts for the men I worked with. It gave me an idea. Since I was shopping for all of their gifts, why not start a business structured on net plus commission?……It was a structure for payment that any Wall Street executive would understand. In 1974, I created, With You in Mind. Specifically targeting the Wall Street executives who didn’t have time to travel uptown to shop for their wives, girl friends, daughters @nd, yes, mistresses. I developed relationships with manufacturing jewelry designers, diamond dealers and setters. Obviously, the prices I could offer them was significantly less than Cartier or Tiffany. In many instances, I designed pieces that were unique to their needs. As the years passed, I became involved in shopping for these men for other items that they needed. I.e. corporate gifts, golf awards for many of the finest golf clubs, the Metropolitan Golf Association, the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association, the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the philanthropic arm of the PGA. My designs were awarded to Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player and Annika Sorenstam. I retired from the golf business when I moved to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida 14 years ago, but it is still my pleasure to provide beautiful jewelry for the children of old clients. I spend my time now volunteering and serve as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church in North Palm Beach. Honestly, I need more to do and am currently working as a project manager overseeing repairs in a home at Mirasol and doing some design work.
