I'm a Nature Allied Psychotherapist, Naturalist and Ethnographer who teaches woodland living skills and natural history. I specialising in working with relational trauma in relationships with people and with nature.I'm Director of Wild in the City, which provides experiences in woodland living skills, natural history, hiking and ecotherapy; using the skills of our ancestors to nurture a deeper connection with the natural world. I'm Course Director at the Nature Therapy School, providing training to psychotherapists and associated professions on Nature Allied Psychotherapy and the therapeutic use of nature.I have theorised Nature Allied Psychotherapy as an orientation of practice and am currently writing a book presenting these ideas, to be published by Routledge. I regularly speak at conferences & seminars on nature & well-being, from psychotherapeutic and anthropological perspectives. I support black communities in finding their place in UK natural settings and create opportunities for the representation of black leadership within nature. My work has produced ethnographies of our intimate, emotional relationships with nature. This includes ethnography of disconnection & it’s impact on the development of cultural attitudes which shun nature; experiences of people of colour in nature in UK settings and white attitudes to black presence in nature.I'm a Fellow of National Association for Environmental Education, Fellow of London Environmental Educators Forum & Mentor with Tuwezeshe Fellowship, supporting African women’s leadership on gender based violence.I have 20 years research experience in the fields of human rights & psychological health.
