Bigpond Music TV was was a music channel that played official music videos alongside premium music related content such as artist interviews, live sessions and behind the scenes clips. My duties at the channel were to source and program new content. This content was screened in accordance with Australian TV Classification standards. As Music Programmer it was my duty to create music briefs that catered exclusively towards the target market of my clients and to develop a program that adhered to the specifications set out in that brief. I compiled five monthly custom programs for three major retail brands and two hospitality companies, along with updating content for nine different monthly genre-based programs which ranged from pop, rock, country, blues and dance.I coordinated clearances and licensing for all audio and video content, and managed all A&R responsibilities including researching and sourcing new content for the department, listening to demos and communicating with artists and their management to maintain working relationshipsI acted as primary liaison for three major record labels and over 50 independent record labels to source content for the programming department.
