I have nearly 10 years experience working for Kaiser Permanente during which time, I promoted quickly and held several roles including: Customer Service Representative, Senior Individual Sales Executive, Group Account Manager and Group Senior Sales Associate. Due to my knowledge and reputation, I was referred by a colleague to provide advice to the Governor on ways to save the Oregon Health Plan, as well as provide ideas and advice to US State Senators on the initial components of the Affordable Care Act.The work was intense and exciting. Desiring more time to spend with my three year old daughter, I moved on to being a Customer Management Specialist in the individual life and disability industry. There, I gained experience in assisting brokerage firms in the sale of life and disability insurance for national carrier, Standard Insurance.I now work part time and close to home, so that I may do volunteer work with the PTA and Girl Scouts as well as be available to take my daughter to after school activities and help with homework. Building a strong community and family is important to me, making part-time work a necessity at this point in my life. When my daughter is a bit older, I hope to be going back to work full time in the insurance industry.
