Working as a cell biologist in a multidisciplinary team. My role was to biologically investigate and validate a new inhibitor/ E3 handle for SOCS2. This protein is heavily involved in regulating the magnitude of multiple immune responses through its role as a feedback inhibitor. There are many therapeutic benefits to learning more about SOCS2 and its role as an E3 ligase, with the potential to recruit it into a PROTAC system in the future. I developed assays such as peptide pulldown, global proteomics, and thermal proteome profiling.

A 12 week lab project working in a Cell Signalling & Immunology laboratory. My thesis was centred around prolonging an antiviral response and the title was, "Boosting IFN response by preventing the degradation of IFN receptor in HeLa cells, through the action of intracellular nanobodies". The project involved kinetics, dose response studies and cytoflex analysis.
