After years of dipping into jobs and out again when realising it wasn't for me, I finally found something I loved. A couple of years ago I stumbled across a TEFL training company and thought 'Fantastic! Something I can do from Turkey if I decide to move there!" - which I did end up doing. I moved to Turkey in 2015 but instead of finding a job, I found a boy. We fell in love and I quickly fell pregnant - leading to me cancelling the job search. Once my daughter was 6 months old (Jan 2017) , my partner and I moved to Izmir in Turkey and I began to work in a private school as an English teacher to prep class (mostly 6 year olds). The job, for me, was not like a job. I loved it so much and looked forward to going to work every day. The children were an absolute joy, they loved playing games and learning with me, as well as calling me 'mummy!'. The only downside was that I had to leave my baby every day, which hurt a lot. When I found a job where I could teach online, and stay home with my daughter, I was over the moon. And now, that's what I do!I'll probably go back to teaching in a classroom when my little girl is a bit older. Hope you've enjoyed reading my little teaching story! Have a fab day!
