Director Of Operations
CurrentResponsible for all aspects of program execution, facilities and personnel management for 50 residential retreats and 500+ non-residential programs and on-line classes annually. Member of Senior Leadership team reporting to and advising Executive Director. Oversight of four departments including Registration, Guest Services (in-person and online), Culinary Operations and Facilities. Spirit Rock is a 60+ employee non-profit organization with a $9mil annual operating budget. Key Accomplishments:Operational• Developed and implemented online program operations converting 75% of our offerings to an online format due to COVID-19 shutdown. • Led efforts to restart on-site operations following 18-mth pandemic closure by hiring and on-boarding 25 new employees representing 90% new operations staff and implementing COVID protocols for all residential retreats. • Responsible for opening newly constructed 3680 sq. ft. Community Meditation Center with an 60% increase in programming in the first year. • Increased occupancy in residential retreats by 10% through the creation and marketing of a new ‘commuter’ package.• Developed and implemented an emergency preparedness plan including fire-fuel mitigation, staff training and onsite drills. • Oversaw Registration Department through CRM transformation. Programing• Partnered with teaching teams to produce our most-complex multi-year trainings including: Dharma Teacher-in-Training, Community Dharma Leader and Dedicated Practitioner programs. • Produced many special programs including The Gathering II: Buddhist Teachers of Black African Decent (BTBAD) and our bi-annual donor retreat which accounts for 15% of Development’s annual fundraising goal. Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) • Part of the Leadership Team to develop our DEI plan.• Facilitated teacher, staff and guest conversations related to micro-aggressions and other grievances. • Oversaw the development of DEI training for 300+ volunteer staff.
