Career to date: September 2008 – Current: NHS Graduate Management Trainee The trainee scheme is designed to fast track graduates through the management process in the NHS by undertaking a number of assignments in different NHS Trusts and hospitals.November 2009 – July 2010: HR Business Partner, East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust (NHS) Working to a Senior Business Partner, I was responsible for HR elements of the Therapies Directorate which consists of 302 staff and am jointly responsible for a further five clinical support directorates, totalling approximately 1,700 staff, at multiple sites across East Kent. Key achievements at EKHT include:• Generation of an option appraisal for elements of learning and development which has identified savings of between £6,703and £35,648 within the current budget. I am currently assisting management in implementing the service redesign• Generation of a paper recommending the transfer of learning initiatives back into the workplace Most recently I am heading up a trust wide on-call payments review pending the ending of localised on call agreements in March 2011 in my new HRBP role at RCHT My aim is following circa 2 years in a substantive HRBP post to progress to either an assistance HR Director or Assistant OD Director postSpecialties: HRBP key responsibilities: • Work with business leaders and key stakeholders to influence, challenge, and support business and people strategies• Assist in organisational development issues across the clinical support directorates, providing professional input into re-profiling and skill mix review exercises• • Assist business leaders and key stakeholders in achieving year-on-year, 5% efficiency savings• Ensuring the people element of the annual business planning cycle is met
